Join The Elderberry Apothecary for the “spring herb faire”

We are inviting your local business to partner with The Elderberry Apothecary as a sponsor for our semi-annual Local Herb Faire (Spring Edition) this June 2, 2019.

The Spring Herb Faire is a free event that will take place at One Mile in Bidwell Park in Chico, CA. More then 500 participants have gathered at our previous Faires. There will be free workshops taught by expert herbalists, local vendors offering herbal medicines and goods, organic food and live music.

As a sponsor, we want to intentionally highlight local businesses that support our purpose and help bring our event to the next level. In exchange for your sponsorship, we would love to offer you a booth at the faire, in addition to promoting your business on our website, poster, Facebook, and newsletter.

A bit of background on the herb faire:

Our grassroots event found a strong community of supporters when our first faire last June went viral, reaching over 10K impressions on Facebook with all organic reach. We had hoped but never expected for so many people to be interested—and actually show up—on the first 100 degree day of the year, to boot!

Our FB event reach doubled to 20K for the Fall Herb Faire last November, and people packed into the Woman’s Club for free workshops from local experts on topics ranging from Herbal Cold & Flu Prevention to Herbs to Support Calming and Anxiety.

It turns out, the greater Chico area has an appetite for wellbeing solutions that go beyond organic, and they want to have a good time with their friends and family while they learn healthy strategies and stock up on quality, local products!

The benefits of a thriving local herbalism community

After the Camp Fire broke out in the days following the Fall Herb Faire last November, we learned an important lesson about the power of building strong community relationships around herbal medicine.

We got the call that support was needed, and we were able to provide free herbal support for those impacted by the fire. We distributed free medicine for coughing lungs, stressed out parents, and nervous children. We took donations and helped herbalists re-stock their home apothecaries several months after the fire.

Without the relationships forged through The Elderberry Apothecary’s Herb Faire prior to the fire, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve the same impact. We are grateful to be able to offer the Herb Faire again this year and continue our legacy of fostering community resiliency.

Why do people come to the herb faire?

Our success is rooted in three main aspects:

  • It’s totally free and draws everyone from those highly-interested in herbalism already, to those just starting to develop an interest

  • People get relevant, actionable info easily accessible in one space

  • It’s pretty special—we are the only Herb Faire that we know of in Northern California (or anywhere for that matter)!

Good things grow better together

We may be a small organization, but with your support, we know we can achieve our goal of being a key link between plants and people for the Chico area. Interest in herbal medicine is surging, and we hope our event can inspire a strong tradition of local-powered herbalism for years to come.

Our event operates on a small budget, partially-offset by a modest vendor fee for herbalists and teachers. We know there’s not much money in the business of medicine making, and as herbalists ourselves, we want to keep our fees as low as possible.

That’s why we’re reaching to you for sponsorship. For a one-time or annual donation of $250-$1,000, your business can not only be featured at our event and on our promotion, but also be a part of a local movement for health and positive connection. Your sponsorship helps us focus on creating the best faire possible, accessible to all for free.

Keep on reading for all the details, including insight on our outreach. If you would like to become a sponsor or have questions, please write to us at theelderberryapothecary@gmail.com or call Lily Rothrock at 916-320-9658. Thank you and we hope you have a beautiful, plant-filled day!
